History

Metro Engineering (NSW) Pty Ltd, has been established as a reputable cryogenic tank manufacturer for over 35 years.

 Founded in 1978 by Trevor Garlick, Metro Engineering ventured into cryogenic tanker industry soon after the company was formed, and has continually striven to grow and improve, to offer world class leading products in the field of cryogenic tanks, in both static and transportable configurations.

Current

With the passing of Trevor in 2013, Metro Engineering has been directed by his sons, Ray and Jeff Garlick. Ray joined the company in 1987, followed by Jeff a few years later. During the evolvement of the company, we have endeavored to keep ahead of the ever changing needs of the cryogenic bulk transport and storage markets, and sought to offer products that offer the best value for money, while also delivering products of the highest quality and longevity.

Metro Engineering offers design flexibility to accommodate various customer requirements, with full 3D solid modeling CAD  capabilities and volumetric weight distribution software, to ensure maximum payloads are achieved.


Location and Facilities

Metro Engineering is located in the heart of St Mary’s industrial precinct and comprises of a purpose built 4100 square meter factory. Some of the features of these premises include:

  • 8200 square meter site, fully concreted. 
  • 200 Square meter air conditioned offices 
  • 10 meter high clearance underneath crane hook 
  • 4 x 10 tonne overhead travelling Demag cranes fitted with load sensing 
  • Rail lines fitted flush with floor to facilitate all aspects of vessel manufacture

Metro Engineering was awarded the WTIA fabricator of the year, in 2013, for excellence in manufacturing, in relation to the manufacture of Cryogenic Road Tankers

Recognition of these qualities has resulted in Metro Engineering receiving this prestigious award.
